Saint Barnabas Medical Center in partnership with Charles B. Wang Community Health Center recently received a grant from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for a collaborative hepatitis B program that spans across Northern New Jersey (NNJ) and New York City (NYC) called “Building Bridges to Liver Health.” The program will improve identification and linkage to care for those with chronic hepatitis B who are at a higher risk because they were born in a country with a high prevalence of hepatitis B. This will be the start of a regional partnership that will leverage resources, better coordinate and integrate existing hepatitis B initiatives, and ultimately improve care outcomes and quality of care for chronic hepatitis B patients .
